Month of Movement 2025
VetPartners colleagues join together to boost wellbeing and raise £55,372
VETPARTNERS colleagues across the UK and Europe have been running, hiking, mountain climbing, swimming and performing the downward dog to boost their wellbeing and raise £55,372 for charities.
Colleagues joined forces for our annual Month of Movement – a chance to enjoy physical activities and have fun, either individually or with colleagues.
VetPartners, which owns some of the UK and Europe’s most trusted and respected veterinary practices and animal healthcare businesses, invited all its team members from the UK, Ireland, Italy, France, Germany, Netherlands, Switzerland, Spain and Portugal to participate in the fun event.
For every hour of activity throughout May, VetPartners is donating £4 (€4.80 / CHF4.50) to each country’s chosen charity. Several countries supported our partner charity World Land Trust, and other worthy causes chosen include Vetlife (UK), Association YouCare (France), Fundación También (Spain), VETHiLFE (Germany) and Treedom (Italy).
Colleagues logged their activities during Month of Movement on the Strava app and VetPartners accumulated everyone’s minutes, before handling all donations.
More than 1,000 colleagues took part in Month of Movement and registered 13,843hours of activity, raising £20,004 for World Land Trust and £35,368 for other charities through a donation from VetPartners.
Some of the ways colleagues made the 2025 Month of Movement a huge success, include:
· Clotilde Gerin, from VetAvenir in Switzerland, scaled the summit of Mont Blanc, the highest peak in Western Europe, sitting 4,805.59m (15,766 ft) above sea level.
· VetPartners UK Talent Business Partner Alastair Kay cycled 45.21 miles (72.76K) around Yorkshire.
· RVN Andrea Drake, who works at Penbode Vets in Cornwall, cycled from home to the practice, clocking up 20 miles (32.35K).
· Colleagues from Viking Vets in Bristol completed the Bristol Great Run 10k wearing Viking helmets.
· Portuguese practice Centros Veterinários MaisVida organised a 24-hour activity, forming teams walking in shifts.
· The Spanish central support team arranged a group Pilates class.
· In the Netherlands, Director of Clinical Development (Northern Region) Maaike van Etten participated in the Innsbruck Alpine Trailrun Festival.
· The French central support team organised a walk and picnic.
· Month of Movement organiser Hannah James, VetPartners Head of ESG, went swimming in Loch Tarff in Scotland.
VetPartners CEO Jo Malone took part in Month of Movement by walking with her dog Tilly and also running, clocking up more than 16 hours.
Jo said: “Month of Movement brought us all together as a UK and European veterinary community and encouraged us all to become active and have fun. I really enjoyed taking part, and hearing about all the amazing activities colleagues did throughout the month was really inspiring.
“Through their efforts, we have donated to charities they feel passionate about, and I hope they all feel proud of how much they have raised and feel a sense of achievement.
“We have a long-standing commitment to World Land Trust and Month of Movement is one of the ways we support their amazing work to protect threatened habitat and wildlife. Vetlife provides a vital service in the UK and we have also supported some really worthwhile causes across Europe.”
World Land Trust is an international conservation charity that protects the world’s most threatened habitats and species, and since 2022 VetPartners’ partnership with the organisation has funded the purchase and protection of 863 acres of wildlife habitat.
