Colleagues join forces for VetPartners’ Month of Movement

VETPARTNERS colleagues across the UK and Europe are joining forces during May to get active, boost their wellbeing and raise money for charity.

Whether walking, running, cycling, dancing, climbing or practicing yoga, colleagues will be taking part in VetPartners’ Month of Movement – a chance to enjoy physical activities, either individually or with colleagues.

VetPartners, which owns some of the UK and Europe’s most trusted and respected veterinary practice and animal healthcare businesses, is inviting all its team members in the UK, Ireland, Italy, France, Germany, Netherlands, Switzerland, Spain and Portugal to participate in the fun event.

For every hour of activity throughout May, VetPartners will donate £4 (€4.80 / CHF4.50) to each country’s chosen charities. Several countries are supporting our partner charity World Land Trust, and other causes chosen include Vetlife (UK), Association YouCare (France), Fundación También (Spain) and VETHiLFE (Germany).

Colleagues log their activities during Month of Movement on the Strava app and VetPartners will accumulate everyone’s minutes, before handling all donations.

In 2024, more than 1,000 colleagues took part in Month of Movement and registered 12,597 hours of activity, raising £50,388 for World Land Trust and Vetlife through a donation from VetPartners.

VetPartners CEO Jo Malone will be taking part in Month of Movement by walking and running.

Jo said: “Our annual Month of Movement is a great event as it brings us all together as a European veterinary community and encourages everyone to get active and have some fun. Getting outdoors in spring to participate in healthy activities is such a boost to wellbeing and it is also an opportunity to give back to two great causes which are close to our hearts.

“We’re proud of our long-standing commitment to World Land Trust, and Month of Movement is one of the ways we support their incredible work to protect threatened habitat and wildlife. Vetlife provide a vital service in the UK so we also want to support the service they provide for members of the profession needing their help. Every minute of movement counts and VetPartners will handle all the donations to support charities that are important to our colleagues.”

Jo added: “I will be doing lots of dog walking, hopefully at least some of it uphill, and will use it as a good reason to get back into a bit of running. I will be aiming to do an average of 10-12 hours a week, so I may not be on the leaderboard, but every bit helps.”

World Land Trust is an international conservation charity that protects the world’s most threatened habitats and species, and since 2022 VetPartners’ partnership with the organisation has funded the purchase and protection of 863 acres of wildlife habitat.

Vetlife supports members of the UK veterinary community and their families who have emotional, health or financial concerns, and has a 24/7 confidential helpline for those in need.
